What is PET used for

Application temperature usually from -20 ° C up to 115 ° C
Special conditions up to 115-180 ° C
Density usually approx. 1.36-1.44 g/cmᶟ

Advantages:

  • High rigidity and hardness
  • High wear resistance
  • Good chemical resistance
  • Can be used at high temperatures
  • Good dielectric properties maintained at high temperatures and high humidity
  • Resistant to solar and UV rays
  • Low friction

Limitations:

Low impact strength at break.

When electrostatic charging, grease and vapor particles attach to the material.

Tendency to bias, less than PA, but better than PP.

Hydrolysis-sensitive.

Applications:

Bearings, slip bearings, pulleys, handles, precision mechanical parts, etc.
